John Vijay plays a Buddhist monk in his next film

We had earlier reported that Gautham Karthik has signed yet another adult comedy with director Santhosh P Jayakumar. The movie also stars Vaibhavi Shandilya of Server Sundaram fame as the female lead. And then, there’s Karunakaran, and actor John Vijay who play important roles. Talking about his role, John says, “I play a Buddhist monk in the movie. Since the film is an adult comedy many of the scenes have been shot in Bangkok.It is a fun young team and the script is young and racy.”
Quiz him about why raunchy comedy is still considered a taboo in the industry, and he says things are changing. “It is not porn. There is no skin show. Adult comedies are just fun films with adult content and that is mainly achieved with dialogues. Youngsters these days like that kind of content. And I’m sure we are not spoiling the youth. The internet is enough to do that kind of damage; or we will have to ban everything. Our film is a nice, light-hearted movie,” he justifies. Currently in Bangkok, John says the city is not new to him. “I have been here several times and I think water sports are the best here. We have also shot in a few islands that are yet untouched. There are also several lagoons where you can snorkel. The Buddhist monasteries, zoo and floating market are other attractions,” he says.
